Donziger tells 2nd circ. His detention was fraught with abuse

By Cara Salvatore (Nov. 5, 2021, 8:43 p.m. EDT) – Chevron Enemy Steven Donziger launched his appeal in the Second District on Friday by arguing that the role of a court-appointed special prosecutor in the prison sentence was not only constitutional Abuse, but also an abuse of the courts’ duty of restraint.

Donziger was convicted of contempt in May under a civil lawsuit in which a federal judge agreed with Chevron that Donziger committed fraud in an Ecuadorian trial to redress the historic pollution and dumping of the oil company there. He reported the beginning of a six-month prison term late last month.
